WEEK 168: SUCCESS LEAVES CLUES

Only a fool learns from his own mistakes.    Otto von Bismarck

REFLECTIONS (learnings and actions): Do you know who Charlie Munger is?

He is the right hand man of Warren Buffet.

Yeah, the Warren Buffet who is worth 83.6 billions dollars.

Charlie himself is also worth 1.7 billion dollars.

Not too bad.

Their staying power validates that Warren and Charlie are the real deal.

And today I am going to share the ONE piece of advice Charlie gives to those who want to achieve anything (ANYTHING)!

What is that piece of advice.

I will tell you, this advice is also what Tony Robbins has said about his ability to achieve whatever he chooses.

Oh yeah, Tony is estimated worth today is a meager 500 million dollars.

Additionally, Dwayne Johnson, the man who never sleeps, also heeds this ONE piece of advice.

So what is the advice that three ultra successful and wealthy mean have in common?

Success leave clues.

What, that can't be it Jess?

Serious, and let me break it down for you.

First, whatever you want to do, someone has already done it.

Charlie Munger has said, "I would rather learn vicariously through the mistakes of others, rather than my own."

Saying that he would rather invest in learning from others who have done what he is setting out to do.

Why is this so MEGA?

Because you get to learn from their mistakes, so you can side-step them when you encounter them (which you will).

And two, learn from their successes, as they have a proven plan you can follow.

Both will accelerate the process of you achieving the result that you choose.

But...

I see so many driven individuals get tripped up today by disregarding this advice.

You are a smart individual and your human brain, for all the amazing things it can do, will want you to figure this out on your own.

That is a natural instinct we all have inside of us.

It is great, but if you are serious about growth.

If you want to get to new levels...without taking years to do it.

If you want to achieve what you set out to...without burning out you can't even enjoy it once you get there.

Then head this one piece of advice from these ultra successful individuals.

Success leaves clues...Learn vicariously through the mistakes of others.

This means first, researching and vetting out those - mentors/coaches - who have done what you desire.

Second, making the decisive choice to invest in a mentor/coach who has a proven plan you can follow.

This gives you the ability to accelerate the learning curve so you can master the process in a fraction of the time.

Of course the decision is yours.

WEEK 167: HOW TO FOLLOW THROUGH 100%

For me the greatest beauty always lies in the greatest clarity.      Gotthold Ephraim Lessing

REFLECTIONS (learnings and actions): Have you ever said you were going to do something...

But, in the end you never followed through?

Life got in the way.

Well, I am going to tell you today how you can overcome these past failures by doing ONE thing.

That is right, no complicated tactics or things to consider. Just simple, clear advice.

Now this topic actually came up as I was having a conversation with a driven and high performing person this week. Actually we have been discussing this same topic for past year or so.

Although he had been crushing it during this time, he had not clarified this ONE thing.

Our conversation starts talking about the gains he has made.

Yet, he always gets to the end and says why he has not accomplished X.

The thing is his story is not just isolated to him.

Well, what is it?

Getting to that, but want to tell you the rest of the story.

So at this point in the conversation I ask him...

What do you want?

And then there is a pause...which then is followed by a long response of wanting this and that, but nothing really clear.

Then I stop him again and ask again.

What do you want?

Which he then responds again with a long answer.

I then have to stop him and ask him to answer in one sentence what he wants.

And he responds with I thinkI know, BUT...

And here lies the less on of today and the ONE thing you need to do in order to follow through 100% of the time.

CLARITY

I am talking about a clear idea of what you want.

This is crucial as the mind can not achieve what it one, does not understand, or two, does not know what it wants.

It is the first piece which must be set so the rest of your plan to work.

Think of clarity being the foundation of your house. It must be laid first before you can add any of the other elements.

Yet I see so many others driven individuals try to overcomplicate or even worse by pass this step altogether.

So how does one gain clarity?

Simple, take out a piece of paper and write this question on the top.

What do I want?

Then take the time to free write until you get everything out and are able to condense what you want into a clear thought.

This allows your brain to clearly know what it is working towards.

Additionally, it gives you clarity in what steps you need to take to achieve what you desire.

WEEK 166: THE 2 PILLARS OF SUCCESS: PART 2

Once your mindset changes, everything on the outside will change along with it.     Steve Maroboli

REFLECTIONS (learnings and actions):

Last week I discussed that your success, or the cap on your success, is built on two foundational pieces.

First is your core health. Simply how you feel physically - energy, vitality, weight.

And like building a house, you will need both in order for the house to fully be supported.

Today I am going to share the second pillar.

I can guarantee you will be able to achieve anything you choose by mastering them both.

Let's get to it.

Did you know you have one of the greatest mechanism on the planet?

Serious.

I am talking more sophisticated than any of the computers today which can transmit and analyze milli...billions of bits of information per second.

It can search vast amounts of data and can make sense of abstract concepts in seconds.

Well, what is this mechanism?

Your BRAIN.

That is correct, your brain is one of the most powerful computers - mechanisms - on the planet.

The thing is it operates just like computers in that it takes in inputs and then produces outputs based on them.

Now here is the thing, the "inputs" part is pretty crucial as if given the improper ones you will ALWAYS get the wrong outputs.

Say for example you are tying to print turn on your computer - output - but you do so by saying turn on - input. It won't work (yet).

You have to push the power button - input - to get the computer to turn on - desired output.

This is the same with your brain.

If you give it the improper *inputs* it will give you the outputs associated with those inputs.

Now to ensure you are getting the proper inputs, you will need a powerful filter to weed out the improper ones.

This brings us to the second pillar because it is your filter to ensure your brain gets the proper inputs.

What is it?

Mind-set.

Not mindset by the way. It is mind - set.

I say mind - set, as mindset is such a buzz word today. Strong, successful, positive...yet, most people one, do not understand it, and two, over complicate it.

Simply, mind-set is "how you think about yourself and the world around you."

Now, why is mind-set so important?

Well, like I said earlier it acts as a filter to feed your mind the proper inputs to

-level up
-produce more
-perform better

But, here is the kicker...

The majority of your mind-set is operating at a subconscious level and this is crucial to understand.

For example, on any given second you are receiving 11,000,000 bits of information from your intrinsic (built-in) memory system subconsciously.

While, consciously you receive 50 bits of information.

11,000,000

50.

Pretty simple to see what will win out every time.

Thus, if you are not aware of "how you think about yourself" then you will NEVER get the results you want. Guaranteed.

Why?

Because your subconscious mind always fights to preserve your identity at all costs.

Even if this identity is one that does not serve you.

Even if it is an identity which brings you pain.

It is like playing an internal chess match with yourself, where every conscious move you make is then countered by 2 moves (or more0.

It is why the saying goes 2-steps forward, 3-steps back.

But here is the beauty of all of this.

Your mind-set can be changed and improved.

Just like a muscle, consistent exercise will help it grow and improve.

Thus, allowing you to equip yourself with the filters necessary to provide your brain with the proper inputs so you can become a higher version of self to conquer the world!

Now here are 4 things you can do to get your mind-set in champion shape.

1. Clarity

What do you want? Who do you need to become? What does that look like?

If you do not know nothing else will matter.

It is like a GPS, you need to know where you are going, and where you are starting from.

2. Rituals

You will need processes to remind you of who you want to become, what actions you need to take, and how to structure your days so you can do this.

2. Inputs

Results pay homage to the process. The process is controlled by the inputs.

Thus, if you do not like the outputs, change the inputs.

3. Environment

One of the single most important factors which will determine your success.

Do you want to become a higher version of self?

Surround yourself with people ahead of you...not those who are playing at your current level.

Or even worse, people who are playing at a level below you.

A weak person in a strong person will always beat a strong person in a weak environment. ALWAYS

So there you have it.

The "2 Pillar" system for success.

I can guarantee you that if you master these two pillars you will be able to achieve ANYTHING...like Die on Mars type of goals like Elon Musk.

So delay no more and get after it today!

PS. If you know another driven individual, hungry for more in life that would benefit from these insights let me know.

I will reach out to them personally to add them to the list.

Thanks in advance for helping me create a greater IMPACT....J

WEEK 165: TWO PILLARS (PART 1)

You can't build a great building on a weak foundation. You must have a solid foundation if you are going to have a strong superstructure.    Gordon B Hinckley

REFLECTIONS (learnings and actions): Do you want to be successful?

I am talking about truly successful.

Health. Professional. Personal.

Well, today I am going to give you the first of the "Two Pillar System"on which all of your success is built on.

I have learned from studying some of the most successful people and it has come down to these two pillars.

You can make progress with one but it is at a fraction of your potential. You are only able to step into your true power mastering both pillars.

It is like the foundation of a house, in that you need all the parts to support the whole house.

So what is first pillar?

Your core health.

Simple you might say, but you need to peel back the curtain to see the power of this first pillar.

The thing is most people do not know that your core health guards one of the most important assets you have as a driven and impactful individual.

What is that asset?

It is how you feel about your self.

Does something make you feel good about yourself.

This is what you should be fighting each day to ensure because if you feel good about yourself then everything seems possible!

Going to tell you right now that piece of advice above is what other driven, high-performing people have paid thousands of dollars to understand.

Why?

Well, take out a piece of paper and take notes as I am about to break this down for you.

How you feel about yourself affects everything else.

Now let me ask you a question, how do you feel about yourself if you are not healthy?

If you are overweight...lack energy...or do not like the person you see when you are standing in front of a mirror?

Going to go out on a limb and say you are not going to feel awesome if your core health is not in order.

Now here is the thing.

If you have your core health on lock down then you feel good about yourself.

If you feel good about yourself then you will have more belief.

If you have more belief anything is possible.

ANYTHING!

Simple, yet powerful.

You might argue that there might be successful people who do not have their health in order, but let me tell you they are a shell of what they can be.

For example, Tony Robbins tells a story of the richest person in Canada who he saw at a Cirque Du Soliel show.

This person had amassed huge amounts of money and probably achieved many great things.

Yet...

He was visibly uncomfortable.

Literally he was so big that he needed to purchase two seats just to watch the show.

Tony said although he might have the money to buy all the seats at the show, he did not have the health to enjoy it.

Moral of the story, the cap on your ceiling for success is tied to your core health.

Thus, your core health - weight, energy, vitality - is one of the main foundations your success is built upon.

I can guarantee from investing to learn from other truly successful people and my own experience, that you will perform at a fraction of what you are able to do if you do not have this under control.

Now how do you gain control of your health?

Well this goes to the inputs you give your health, ie, the food you give your body to nourish it.

Could wrap about this for days, but will leave it at that today.

Come back next week when I drop insights about the second pillar.

See you on the other side...J
