Change your INPUTS to change your OUTCOMES. Chris Evans and Taylor Welch
REFLECTIONS (learnings and actions): This week I want to share a simple phrase which can help you change any outcome you want.
Yeah, that is right...ANY.
Well, what is it?
Now I want to tell you in advance this post will be a little shorter than usual as I am settling my family into our new home in China.
Change your INPUTS to change your OUTPUTS.
So my family and I made it safely to China.
It was a long and tiring trip (36 hours in all), but we are here now and are settling into our new life abroad. More on this later...
I learned this simple phrase from Chris and Taylor who are online entrepreneurs who have catapulted from just a few clients to a multi-million dollar business.
You might ask how this phrase can help you change any outcome, so lets get into it!
INPUTS are what you do on a consistent basis to achieve (blank).
For example, what you eat or how much you exercise are the INPUTS you need to analyze if you are trying to achieve the OUTPUT of getting in the best shape of your life.
I have mentioned this before but we live in a culture where we only focus on OUTPUTS, and spend little to no time analyzing our INPUTS.
Often times we get super frustrated WHY we did not achieve x, y, z and can't figure out why. We think it out of our control and feel overwhelmed and helpless, as we can not figure it out.
It is simple, take a look at your INPUTS. Not just a quick glance, but really sit down and reflect on what you are doing on a daily basis to move you closer to where you want to be.
Back to my example of moving my family safely into our new lives in China. I was getting super frustrated of things not going as planned (when do they do?) or to schedule. Thus, I took a step back and analyzed my INPUTS, take a look.
1. Created schedule of things to complete to set up house.
2. Put finishing touches on the bot I am creating for my client.
3. Learning new material for orientation of my new job.
4. Getting kiddos back on a schedule.
Now, these items 1-4 did not go according to, well schedule.
Then I realized INPUT #5.
5. When something did not go to schedule, I would get mad it did not happen at a certain time. Here is the crucial part, I would stay frustrated at why things were not working.
Thus, if I wanted to change my OUTPUT of moving/transitioning my family into our new lives in China I needed to change INPUT #5.
Thus, want to achieve massive success, want to achieve your dreams and are frustrated at where you are at?
Take a look and reflect on your INPUTS to see if they are actually moving you closer, keeping you stuck, or moving you farther away from where you want to be.
What Went Well?
"To Do" list growing exponentially, yet weekly task completed.
What is something we can improve? What actions can we take next week?
Not assuming. Our brain is an amazing tool, but at times it can think of all the different possibilities, when most of them are not true at all. Thus, if you do not know something, ask, do not assume.
What is something to avoid next week?
Assuming.

PLANNING (Implementation Intention): You will follow through 2X to 3X more likely to complete your weekly task than you normally would just by filling in the following statement.
PLANNING (Implementation Intention): You will follow through 2X to 3X more likely to complete your weekly task than you normally would just by filling in the following statement.
I plan to complete the weekly task [day] at [time] in [location].
A reminder you might have to use multiple Implementation Intentions in order to follow through.
EXECUTION (strategies used): From week to week, I use a combination of many strategies. There are always some which are used more than others depending on what comes up, but I wanted to offer a link to all them at once.
My advice is to identify the I CAN'T statement you tell yourself during the most. Then find a strategy below the statement which resonates with you, and then start using it.
Enjoy!
