WEEK 163: AWARENESS OF THIS CAN UNLOCK YOUR ABILITY TO LEVEL UP

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort or convenience, but where he stands in times of challenge and controversy.   Martin Luther King

REFLECTIONS (learning and actions): Have you achieved something worthwhile?

Serious. Something others said you could not do?

I want you to think about it, as there is an aspect you have probably overlooked which can help unlock your ability to level up in...ANYTHING.

What you might ask?

Well, to do this I want to explain how muscles grow.

Seriously Jess?

Simple I know, but it is often understanding and mastering the simple things which are the most powerful.

So, how do muscles grow?

Well, first let me tell you how they do not grow.

They do not grow if there is no pressure. For example, if you go to the gym and pick up 2 lb dumbbells you are not looking at minimal to no growth at all.

Just not possible for you to get those defined biceps if there is no pressure or stress.

Just not how it works.

Logically, you know muscles grow after enduring stress or challenge.

For example if you go to the gym and pick up dumbbells which are heavier than you think you can lift and consistently train with those dumbbells I can guarantee you will grow muscles.

Caveat here is you do not choose dumbbells which are so heavy you can't even pick them up, producing too much pressure, overwhelm, and burnout.

Now, how does this simple lessons in muscle growth help you unlock your ability to produce and perform at a higher level?

Simple (there is that word again). You will need elements of stress and pressure to grow.

This means to no avoiding challenge.

This means to no complaining when things will get hard (which they will).

This means no quitting, when everything around you says to.

etc, etc, etc...

There is an epidemic today where everybody wants the rewards, but they do not want to work in to get it.

"I will do anything to achieve my (health/business/life) goal."

Yet, at the first sign of difficulty they fold up the tent and say it is too hard.

STOP.

This is where you need to zoom out and redefine chaos, challebge, and pressure.

Here are new definitions you need to implant into you mind.

CHAOS: Your reward for promotion and precursor before your authority.

CHALLENGE: Something you can control and a sign post you are on the right path.

PRESSURE: Draws out your best and sign post that what you are doing is worthwhile.

These elements are givens on the path to achieving your greatest goals.

If you do not face any chaos, challenge, or pressure than your dreams are worthless.

Serious.

Ask a successful person if they achieved their greatest accomplishments without learning from chaos, challenge, and pressure?

Not going to happen.

So STOP looking for the easy way out.

The great thing is awareness and knowing the proper definitins is more than 1/2 the battle.

So knowing that chaos, challenge, and pressure are all a part of the process helps you push through these points when they appear (and they will).

So if you are serious about leveling up your game, then STOP looking for everything to be easy...STOP looking to eliminate all the problems.

Understand they are a part of the process and sign posts you are on the right track!

See you on the other side....J

Top three activities that move me forward?

1. MF. Installing and deleting beliefs.
2. Keeping commitments. No greater responsibility.
3. Release control of the external.

Biggest lessons/learnings and corrections?

Life is and always is happening FOR us in amazing and abundant ways.

Stop trying to control everything and receive and accept all that God and the universe is bringing to you!

What are you grateful for?

Learning the strategies to fortify my inner citadel >> mindset << so I can perform in any situation under any conditions.
-----
PLANNING (Implementation Intention):  You will follow through 2X to 3X more likely to complete your weekly task than you normally would just by filling in the following statement.

I plan to complete the weekly task [day] at [time] in [location].

A reminder you might have to use multiple Implementation Intentions in order to follow through.

EXECUTION (strategies used):  From week to week, I use a combination of many strategies. There are always some which are used more than others depending on what comes up, but I wanted to offer a link to all them at once.

My advice is to identify the I CAN'T statement you tell yourself during the most. Then find a strategy below the statement which resonates with you, and then start using it.

Enjoy!
